Thomas, why don't you use the pm-utils? Try to suspend with "sudo pm-
suspend". If this doesn't work either, have a look into the log files
(/var/log/pm-suspend.log).
In the log you attached on 1.2.2008 it says:
[ 731.428381] Suspending console(s)

Hi Leann,
Thank you for keeping an eye on this annoying bug.
I did the upgrade to 2.6.27:

Unfortunately the problem remains, my system does not suspend.

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

This says it is just a typo:

Hi again,
I tried the new kernel:

Hi Leann,
Sorry for not reading through my post before submitting. I mean suspend to
ram all the way through, so the line should have read: "When selecting Suspend
from the log-off menu...".
Thank you for pointing it out.
I will hurry up, try the new kernel and report back.
Hibernate also do
Hi Thomas,
I just need a little clarification. Are you seeing issues with Suspend
(Suspend to RAM) or issues with Hibernate (Suspend to Disk). The two
are different things. Your initial description mentioned "When
selecting Hibernate from the log-off menu" but the remainder of your
report seems
Hope this gives you a clue.
Suspend worked on this hardware in Edgy and Feisty (as I remember), but stopped
working in Gutsy.
I hoped it would be fixed in Hardy, but this far it does not work -- hence this
bug-report.
