Since this bug report did not have answers during a long time, I set the
status to invalid but please feel free to re-open it by changing the
status to "new" if you can still reproduce the bug and provide needed

Thanks for your contribution to ubuntu. In order to help that bug
getting fixed, can you provide the following informations :
1. The file created by this command in a terminal : lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.txt
2. The output of this command in a terminal : cat /etc/usplash.conf
3. The output of this c
It's not certain if it's usplash or not.
I've tried to help this person, also two more, one ubuntu and one kubuntu on
#ubuntu+1
They all have similar problems:
- upgraded from feisty (7.04) to gutsy RC (7.10)
- the startup splash screen (usplash) is not visible
- I tried to fix the update-alterna
