If this is a wxWidgets bug, it should be fixed since 2.8.5 (the latest
version is 2.8.7 as of this writing), quoting the changelog:
* Replaced g_free with g_border_free to fix crash with newer GTK+.
Please let us (wxWidgets developers) know if you still see the problem

I confirmed this problem is somehow related to gnome theme. What I am
using are:
* Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10
* Compiz v 1:0.6.2
When I use theme 'Milky 2.1', my Thunderbird and Firefox die from time
to time. But if I use theme 'Clearlooks', they works normally. I
didn't have time to try other themes.
I thought you recognized wx bug in my report, because it is already
known to you (and as far as I can see from your reply, it is confirmed
for 7.10 only...)
As far as I can guess, the problem is in wxwidgets library (or, what is
it), but not in the OS itself?...
Here is some History:

Of course we could release a Stable Release Update (SRU) for feisty to fix your
problem, but first we need to identify it exactly, and if it's indeed a bug, we
need a patch. :)
So, do you know anyone who has the same problem? Are there other bugs filed
about that?

What about issuing a patch, solving wx bug for Feisty?
Will it be included into one of system updates, or everyone should find
it somewhere over inet and then apply on their own?
Just.. The problem is here for several months.. :-/

No, feisty will still be maintained during one year. Each release is
maintained during 18 months (more for LTS such as dapper).

Yes, I saw some similar crash reports for 7.10.
But I wonder if anyone got similar bugs in 7.04..
.. And if there are any bug-fixes for _Fiesty_?
Or, you mean that this 7.10 release (which is planning to be out in few
days) will have a Stable status and will only be maintained?

That really looks like a wx bug.
Ubuntu 7.10 will be out in a few days (and RC is already available), maybe you
could test and see if this issue is still present for you?
