I thought you recognized wx bug in my report, because it is already known to you (and as far as I can see from your reply, it is confirmed for 7.10 only...)
As far as I can guess, the problem is in wxwidgets library (or, what is it), but not in the OS itself?... Here is some History: 1. I posted a problem with Firefox to one Russian forum, and some guys confirmed the same behavior. Then one user advised to change Desktop Scheme to ClearLook, and it worked then. Moreover, some other guys confirmed that changing of a theme (!) helped them to solve similar situation as well. If you have someone who can read Russian, you may refer to this thread: http://forum.ubuntu.ru/index.php?topic=11010.0 2. Some other reports on hanging/crashing were also posted to this topic: http://forum.ubuntu.ru/index.php?topic=10932.0;all .. despite the topic was initially opened for discussing of [GSlice: g_thread_init() must be called before all other GLib functions ...] warnings, you can find there some reports, very similar to my problems. Just one note: Firefox & Thunderbird started halting/crashing (with themes, defferent from ClearLook) approximately at the same time, as the "GSlice:" warnings started for apt-get, etc... aMule and FileZilla were not even tried that time, so I can't say anything about these apps. -- FileZilla crashes just after the start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150318 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
