I am experiencing the same problem. It's 100% cpu usage on 1 thread
only.

I have the same problem, the game becomes unplayable after a while. Then I
tried the following, under settings, preferences, theme - I chose "plain"
and the performance-issue was solved. I know this is a work-around at best.

I can also confirm this behavior. Tetris shouldn't require these kind
of system resources! The game starts fine. This usually happens after
playing for about a minute when my gameboard gets more full and complex.
If I just let the blocks fall, everything is ok. When I rotate or drop
them using
I confirm this strange behaviour. After some pieces (at least 20) are placed,
the game gets sluggish and xorg usage gets up to 100% when interacting with the
game (ie rotating blocks or moving them).
Here's my specs:
- Gutsy beta
- AthlonXP 3000+
- Ati 9600 with fglrx
