This build for Intrepid does indeed transcode my flac files.
This is however a later version, my original bugreport was about r1586,
Intrepid installs r1696.
Now there is only a small section in config.xml missing. But that should
be fixed upstream I guess. It is also missing in Ron Pedde's own

As mt-daapd does transcoding using ffmpeg now (per intrepid) - and it
works right away, these files are no longer needed.

Not to pick or anything, but we're coming up on the 7 month anniversary
for this bug. There's no reason why this should be taking this long.
Have we had any response at all from either Joshua Kwan

One useful info for using the files provided with my previous post on
Ubuntu Gutsy: wavstreamer is looking for /usr/lib/libFLAC.so.7 file
(library) which is not available. You have to create a "fake" one by
creating a symbolic link to /usr/lib/libFLAC.so.8.0.1. I dit it with

Just in case someone is looking fot these missing files while we're
waiting for this bug to be resolved: here they are!

Probably an error while building?
I janked both files from a .deb build by Ron Pedde for Feisty, it's working as
it should since then.
I can't work without them, most of my music files are flac encoded...
Thanks for your effort.

I haven't heard back from the Debian maintainer about why these files
were removed from the debian package, so I'll send another email about
it, as his reply may may have been caught in my spam filter. In any
case, I can't proceed further till I have more info.
** Changed in: mt-daapd (Ubuntu)
I compiled several versions of the firefly source code under Unbuntu
7.10, which I have downloaded from the fireflymedia nightlies site.
Each compile has produced 1) the following errors in mt-daapd.log: a:
Error loading plugin /usr/lib/mt-daapd/plugins-ffmpeg.so (null), and b:
Error loading plugi
You are right, I must have picked up that package for Edgy from
www.fireflymediaserver.org.

This package wasn't in edgy. My only guess is that you have retrieved
this from someone's PPA, or another third-party repository. In any case,
I'll see about getting the files added to the package.
