I get this problem too, good news that it is fixed in Hardy. But since
Hardy is not yet ready, is there any way to fix it in Gutsy?

I'm having this problem too. It occurred in feisty and is still present
on a clean and updated install of gutsy tribe 5. It seems to only apply
to videos using the H.264 codec, and I've seen the green area artefacts
in both mp4 and mkv files that used this codec. The same videos display
correctly i
i'm using gstreamer, the codec is probably from the base set, this is
only a mpeg4 video

video and what the type of the video?
