MIT just got bit by this bug. We're getting ready to roll out a big deployment of Ubuntu, and discovered the default session that users should use isn't called Default Session Script, it's called "Run Xclient script". We've done a diversion to rename the script. I've looked at the upstream bug.

After searching the net, I've decided to look at scripts (mainly /etc/X11/Xsession) and: If you select "Xclient", $HOME/.xsession gets executed (if exists). Created one that says "jwm", works like a charm. If there's a problem changing the text or the tooltip because of some inter-distro evil pac
