No, that is not correct, this does not create the same directory
structure. You would be missing the "logs" and the "web

This bug seems to be fixed in Intrepid and can be closed.
I just installed Eclipse and Tomcat5.5 via apt-get and the Web Tools
Platform 1.5 (needed for "Dynamic Web Project") via the Eclipse update
mechanism (WTP is not packaged for Ubuntu yet).

If you just add the logs and webapps symlink to the /usr/share/tomcat5.5/
directory it will solve the problem.

To trick eclipse about the installation directory, I've created a folder
(/opt/tomcat/) with symlink to all the folders that are in an installation of
tomcat.
/opt/tomcat/ :
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2007-07-25 00:56 bin -> /usr/share/tomcat5.5/bin
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 2007-07-25 00:57 commo
I'm not sure if this is related but here goes:
I just installed Feisty, both sun-java-1.5 and sun-java-6, eclipse, and
tomcat 5.5 from the official Ubuntu repositories. (in fact, this is my
first time install of Ubuntu and it went swimmingly well except for
tomcat 5.5)
