I've disabled pulseaudio because it has huge problems working with VirtualBox and gone back to ALSA. Is there an applet equivalent in the Karmic repos to provide volume control using ALSA? I'm currently using gnome-alsamixer but it's big and bulky. I do hope PulseAudio will actually work properl

Thank you for the response. Sound has worked perfectly for months now. I think (but I'm not sure) that the sound problems occurred when I installed Virtualbox. I've heard it's buggy for some people. After removing it and doing all sorts of cleanup to get sound working again, I have never tried
