The 18 month support period for Gutsy Gibbon 7.10 has reached its end of life -

linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22 task. It would be helpful if you could test the
new Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 release and confirm if this issue remain
2.6.22-14 kernel will not boot (modprobe error, not specified. cannot
locate either drive on seconday ide. root=/dev/hdc1) on MSI KT6V
motherboard and 2.6.20-16 works only in single user text mode(X loads
with no error according to log then system halts) after upgrade to gutsy

I confirm that kernel 2.6.22-14 does not boot on my thinkpad T60p, while
2.6.20-16 does, after a dist-upgrade from fiesty. Unfortunately I can't
report the boot log because of the not very nice bug #98955...

Same here, but with 2.6.22-14. I tried upgrading to gutsy (I changed feisty to
gutsy in sources.list and run apt-get dist-upgrade) and it did not boot (I
could use previous linux-image in grub, so I can boot and send the log). Log is
very similar, but it cannot harm, if I put it here. I hope it
