That's because Google Earth does really depend on ia32-libs.
Application won't work without this dependency, theoretically there's a way
to isolate only the particular ia32-libs that are used by Google Earth. But
I'm afraid this would take too much time and effort.

from sid (http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/contrib/g/googleearth-
