Thank you for your posting. After reading your posting I have installed the
3.10 and now on my Lenovo Q190 I can use WIFI.
The uname -a confirms that I have the correct kernel

I have installed the kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v3.10-saucy/ and I confirm that I can connect via wifi.

Since I have a spare port on my router, I will continue to use a WIRED
connection until the RTL8188EE drivers are a part of the native kernel.
If I were to want to compile a custom kernel I would need the step by step
commands.

This bug persists in the upstream 3.9 kernel. I have loaded the 3.9 upstream
kernel on my Lenovo Ideacentre Q190
in relation to the bug #1162516. There are no wifi drivers loaded with the 3.9
kernel . Please let me know how I can help you all with this issue.

I also have the Lenovo Ideacentre Q190 and I am also running Ubuntu 12.10
Secure Remix. I also cannot use the RTL8188E WIFI chip on my Lenovo Q190.
However, I am able to connet to my router by using the RJ45 network jack.
Please include me in any updates. Also, I can provide diagnostic logs
