I've tested this again just now and in typically I cannot get it to fail
again on my computer. I've asked someone else to test and although it

rack server via the LOM, and at no time while the system was starting up
did I see anywhere I could set command line options - it went from the
firmware talking about scanning the bus to "No Signal" to the kernel

I had to use the generic driver because the NVIDIA one caused the system to
hang on boot. This causes problems in Firefox where the browser shows a
pixilated section of the screen. And Chromium is not stable. How do I monitor

I have recently installed Win 10 on sda but sda1 is not the NTFS partition,
that is sda2.
Ubuntu is on sdb, / on sdb2, /boot/efi on sdb1.

I have found something that changes the state of the flickering. I tried to
plug in a thunderbolt to hdmi display and while the machine didn't output
to the display, the flickering stopped. I found that if I plugged in the

I did verify that kernel 5.3 was running. Also I'm confident that it isn't

At boot I consistently get the error message:
"INFO: task systemd-udevd:179 blocked for more than 120 seconds."
This is under 16.04 on a Dell Optiplex 9020. See the attached image for

This causes a JavaFX app I'm working on to hang when Desktop.browse() is
