I tried installing ALSA 1.0.15 rc3 in my ubuntu gutsy partition bu I got
the following error when i tried to make the utils

the front mic boost level was set at maximum( there was no front mic level).

I just installed Arch Linux in my toshiba a205-s4577 and I was able
to get sound and mic functionality after i installed the latest ALSA
rc.

feisty machine. And try to configure ALSA utils, I dont get too far I get

I am pretty sure It is not working for A205-S4577 laptop owners. There are
some other users with different laptop models with same chipset who have had
success, but i think if the bug isnt fixed for the Toshiba model it
shouldn't be closed.
