I face this issue in Ubuntu 20.04. Just found the Alt-F2-r combination
and it does work.

I'll report the same or similar problem on my Lenovo Thinkpad P540P
using 14.04. New kernel 3.13.0-48 broke my USB mouse and my Wifi
Connectivity. Keyboard still worked though, but I am using an internal
laptop keyboard rather than USB one. Reverting to 3.13.0-46 "solved"
these problems.

OK, finally to the bottom of this.
Setting GRUB_GFXMODE to 640x480 worked. I had previously tried with no
setting for this variable or with 1920*1080, the preferred 16x9 aspect
ratio of my monitor. Neither worked. No 16x9 aspect ratios are
supported by vbeinfo.

Why then is there no problem with whatever is booted to out of GRUB?
Switching the DVI or HDMI is not an option. I don't think that either
the computer or monitor support those options.

Bug 264683 is only when you change physical locations.
It doesnt work for me on the exactly same spot.
So here is my syslog.

1. Temporarily turn off automatic ntp updates.
2. This enabled the "Synchronize Now" button on the GUI. The correct time
then appeared. Since I had "Show UTC" checked in the preferences t

Yesterday, I took all the latest updates for my 7.1.0 ubuntu

Shortly thereafter I looked at the clock display on my screen and
noticed that
