The error occurred while I was trying to remove the package in Ubuntu
8.10... The packager manager no longer shows it installed and so I do
not consider this a huge problem, at least for my system.

I do not see the message anymore in /var/log/daemon.log on my Ubuntu
8.10 desktop client machine.
