I have the exact same problem as hansie describes. I am trying to put Trusty

There is no flickering/blinking on the original download of Trusty wi
Good news!! I just updated my ubuntu 14.04 system to the latest update
(as of 4/3/2015) and I was able to download a 4GB video file directly
from my Canon sx280hs camera. I hadn't been able to do that until I
installed the latest update. I also updated my ubuntu 12.04 system on
the same date but
my Canon camera mounts under ~/.gvfs. In general things work. I can
copy most files to my hard disk. However, like Post 202, I cannot copy
large files in the 2GB and above range. The copy starts normally, but
if I use System Monitor (graphical interface) to monitor the system, I

I am looking for a fix to this problem (wide spacing of icons in
Indicator-applet) for Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin LTS. Does anybody
have one?

I installed Ubuntu 12.04.1 on my Compaq Presario 2100 (2195US to be

Thanks for the response. The only 3.8 kernel I can find for precise is
in the daily builds. I think you intended for me to install the 3.8
raring kernel. Do I need to download and install raring, or can I
install the 3.8 raring kernel in precise with no ill effects.
Thanks again,

Public bug reported:
I run Ubuntu 12.04.1 on my Dell Latitude D610 laptop. Sometime within
the last month (Jan 2013) I did a normal update. Now suspend/sleep and
hibernate no longer work. If I close the laptop lid (suspend) the screen
goes blank, but the cpu (and fan) continue to run. When I open
