I did a clean install of Ubuntu 12.04.1, installed all the updates, and tested suspend and hibernate. Both worked fine. I then installed gnome-panel, disabled overlay scrollbars in dconf, installed Clearlooks Phenix 2 theme, installed Flash, customized the bottom panel, moved the minimize, maximize, close box to the right, and a few other things. Suspend and hibernate still work. Please don't work on this problem until I finish my customization. Perhaps that will cause the problem again, or hopefully, the problem will be fixed.
