Okay, I'm having to change my comments :( This is not fixed :(
It seemed to work briefly yesterday but after a reboot it does not work unless
I have disabled "Legacy Fullscreen Support" in CCSM.
Added a new screenshot showing no decorations on the compose window and
it taking up the full screen
There's been a new unity release, 4.22.0-0ubuntu2, which fixes this bug
for me too (v1 didn't for some reason). Must have been the same issues
as #861143 after all...

"Legacy Fullscreen Support" in Workarounds in CCSM. Does that "fix" the

Went back to my original profile, bug returned. Disabled "Legacy
Fullscreen Support" in Workarounds (within CCSM) and that solves it
(well, works around it). FWIW re-enabling LFS brings the bug right

home (on a much bigger screen, dual head Nvidia set-up for video
playback) and couldn't reproduce.

1 - If you new emails default to maximised, open a new window and the
window will be greater than the unity panel and launcher with no window
decoration (see maximised.png). [The only way to close this is with

Has affected me since 10.10 (32-bit) using Jabber and is very annoying.
Still present in empathy 2.32.1 and telepathy-gabble 0.10.
Only ugly work-around is to re-install empathy, empathy-common and
telepathy-gabble from Lucid (2.30.3 and 0.8.12 respectively) and then
set them to "hold" using 'dpkg
No longer happens on Maverick using nvidia-current (260.19.06) and xorg
(7.5+6)!

It seems this is a bug in empathy and not telepathy-gabble. I've used
empathy daily for over a year now and this has never happened so I've
just rolled back to the lucid release of empathy & empathy-common
(2.30.0.1-0ubuntu3) and I can now suspend and resume with empathy re-
connecting instantly.
Sorry but full screen workaround does not solve this problem on either
of my machines (i386 and x64), both fully up-to-date 10.04 and OOo
3.2.0-7ubuntu4.1

I have a cleaner solution working under lucid and the latest kernel
(2.3.32-19) that has the modem recognised and connect via the Network
Manager applet.
I need to install ozerocdoff and hsolink (but not the one from luci
I'm running Lucid with 2.3.32-19 and my Option 505 is now recognised by
the Network Manager and I'm getting the same speeds as HSOconnect. I
have ozerocdoff installed as well as hsolink (1.0.118-1) and have added
to the udev.rules (all from this post):

As funnylife_ma mentioned, you could either disable compiz (not ideal) or you
could just disable the Place Windows plugin. Simply trying to untick Place
Windows didn't work as after a few seconds it would be re-enabled (I assume
another plugin required it).
To do this I had to go into CCSM > Pr

successfully once, however when it tries to resume a second time it
fails, booting as normal. When logged it the network connection is
unavailable as "Enable Networking" is unchecked. This happens

also updates the count correctly too. However when Evolution is
focussed, even through a full screen new email being composed, the icon

all mail locally as a work-round for bug 492248, which is gnome #604027
on bugzilla. Removing that filter makes the bubble come up again saying
"1 new message" but still a zero count and no icon change.

Just tried hibernation for no real reason and it works! Still the same
kernel, initramfs has been updated (I think) to 0.92bubuntu67. Other
than that I am not aware of anything else changing but I can now resume
(once at least!) with Beta 1.

I'm running an AMD64 system with a NVidia card and I managed to get
things working again (without a reboot) by re-installing xserver-common,
xserver-xorg-core, xserver-xorg-video-intel and nvidia-current through
GDebi (used nautilus to go to /var/cache/apt/archives). Hope that helps

The problem comes from the fact that I also have evolution-rss
installed. Something in there, possibly due to gtkhtml / webkit
rendering, stops Evolution from sending emails with inline images or
embedded images. Removing this package and com
I've narrowed it down a bit further. If you compose a message and save
it as draft, then go into the draft folder and view the source of it,
you'll see the image is encoded properly and attached as a multi-part
email. However once the email goes from draft to Outbox that attached
image is removed
This seems to be a regression related to Ubuntu. I've just tried
OpenSuse 11.2 alpha (milestone 8) which has Evolution 2.28 in it and
this bug is not present. Composing a message with an image in works as
expected.
