As far as I know this bug persists. I am still using 8.04.
The issue stopped being a problem for me after I enabled "do not eject
medium after after write process" in the advanced setting.

The KDE network manager has *never* *ever* worked for me, over several

Interesting. for me k3b does not open the tray at all and goes on to
verify. And even in the previous version with the problem it did start
the verify if I was quick enough in manually closing the tray.

I simply removed all packages which dpkg had problems with (i.e.
unresolved dependencies). I think this is different from box to box,
depending on the exact nature of installed packages. I reckoned I could
always install them again later.

I got a friend to install feisty on his laptop and his external hard
drive will not mount automatically as well. He says "Windows is so
