I have the same problem. Rebooting once did it fix it. However after
upgrading to Jaunty, rebooting does not solve the problem anymore. This
is a very annoying problem.. :-(

I can confirm that when using the hardware off switch for the card, then
stopping the network and unloading the module works.
The crash interval seems to be accelerated when using vpn, perhaps because the
nic is under heavier load? Crashed 3 times since my last post.

This is by far the most annoying bug I have experienced in my 6 years as
a linux user, it's a bug the at random makes us need a reboot. I suggest
a higher priority.

This happens with every AP I tried so far.
I will try to use the hardware switch and unloading the NIC next time,
hopefully it won't be for a couple of hours, since it just happend :-(

I can comfirm this issue on my Dell XPS m1330.
Looks like the issue appears more often when the NIC is under load.
After the crash iwlist eth1 scanning returns eth1 does not support scanning. It
crashes completely.
