I can comfirm this issue on my Dell XPS m1330. Looks like the issue appears more often when the NIC is under load. After the crash iwlist eth1 scanning returns eth1 does not support scanning. It crashes completely.

As the problem happens both where I go to school, and at home. It is possible that the extra pptp load to the NIC does indeed increase the load and accelerate the error interval. I got the error twice in one hour. Let me know if you guys need more information. Unloading the module and loading it resolves the problem. However I need to exit X to unload it, or at least kill the process that claims to use it. I feel that this is a medium/high priority. -- Error on shutdown --> ipw 3945: error sending cmd #07 to daemon: timeout after 500ms https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/71510 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
