There isn't any driver support for the Epson Perfection 2580 Photo even though
it's been around for a few years now.
Since this is the package used by a few of the Scan applications including
simple-scan, the default install in 10.04, I figured this was the one to report
it

I worked with John Vivirito on the initial issue, which is the topic of this
bug and the other things I mentioned in #13 I noticed as we went, which were
all fixed once compiz was no longer being used.
Therefore I assumed it had some role (to what level I do not know) in the oth

It appears there was a number of issues and it was all traced back to compiz
being the culprit.
A list of the issues I found were these:

* System > Administration > Users Settings - Buttons there not working
correctly.

I just upgraded to 9.10 and the hack no longer works. I had hesitated
upgrading for this very reason because I was afraid Rapache wouldn't
work and I was right.
I really hope this project gets fixed and not abandoned. I really hoped
for a fixed version with the release of 9.10.
