Im having the same problem on an older P4 Sony Viao PCV-RS310. Burned
DVD discs of 10.04 and10.10 give me this error. I tried burning a CD of
10.10 and I got into the install phase, partitioned the drive, and then
during install it failed. Tomorrow I will attempt to install 10.04 from
official Ubun
It cant be just an i7 core problem. I have two computers with this
problem. A 32 bit P4- 3.4ghtz dual core and a newer 64 bit P4 dual core.
Both have this prob, both are 10.10. I noticed my dads laptop... a P4
dell inspiron 1525n with 10.04 has this problem too.
Rebooting on all systems fixes the
PROBLEM SOLVED. I just figured out that using the OpenDNS server numbers
in network manager was blocking my ability to print. I switched back to
default (no OpenDNS) and printing works fine now. Please delete are mark

UPDATE:
I am able to find the printer and install it from a LiveCD of Ubuntu
10.04.1.
The Ubuntu 10.04.1 LiveCD found the printer at: "smb://NET/Printer"
whereas installed versions find it at: "smb://MSHOME/NET/Printer"
So, I decided to go back into my Maverick beta here and try to "find"
the pr

Did you test Ubuntu One out after rebooting? I deleted the pid file,
rebooted and did not experience any couchdb problems until I tried to go
into Ubuntu One. Then I got the same crashes as before. Problem not
fixed on my system.

I do not think this is an "upgrade" problem, although i see many people
here reporting the problem after the upgrade. I have this problem at
home on 32 bit (which is an uprade to lucid) and i have this same
problem here at work which is a fresh install of 64 bit lucid.

Agreed. I believe this is a U1 (ubuntuone) problem. None of my files
sync at all with lucid and my contacts in evolution do not sync with
ubuntu one which uses couchDB.

"I fixed this by going Preferences > Synchronization, Press clear and
save again"
Apparently I needed to re-sync my notes with UbuntuOne.

Almost same as previous post. Im using Google Chrome, in 10.04 Alpha
3 64 bit. I was on some flash heavy soccer website and it was trying
to load some video and hung the web browser up.

I'm noticing this in Alpha 3 of 10.04 right now. Program listed to
install, but percentage remains at 0%. If i reboot, it is possible that
the application finished installing and there is an icon available in
the application list and the program works.

I too have this problem since upgrading to 9.10. I have a Canon ip2600
inket at home and an HP M2727 laserjet at work. Both dont print when
trying to print PDF files. I can print OO files fine and anything else
just fine.
Ive noticed that I **CAN** print PDF files if I use Okular.

I am experiencing this same problem. I have Ubuntu 8.10 all updated and
using Rhythmbox 0.11.6. It is annoying when Im looking for an artist and
it crashes!
Its not a complete program "crash". Rhythmbox slows down considerably,
to an unusable state. Sometimes it goes all white. After 20-30 seconds
I dont think this crash happens with the "none" selected for visual
effects.
