while looking in /usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/picard I saw that there was a
file called plugin.py but no plugins.py
copying this file to the name that the other scripts expect fixes the problem
and everything runs as expected

i can confirm that this patch fixes the gdm logic issue.
regarding 3d acceleration though, I get a lot of display issues such as
artifacts when using compiz. metacity works fine though.

When I try to connect to this particular wireless router (called
'default'), it fails and I get the password box. If I check "Show
Password", I get a whole bunch hex crap instead of my actual password.
