Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
The old behavior prior to upgrading to karmic was that totem would prevent the screen from dimming or blanking while watching a video. With the new version of gnome-power-manager in karmic, the screen will dim and blank while watching videos in totem, requiring that the mouse be moved every 10 minutes. I'm pretty sure that gnome-power-manage is to blame because it was updated before the new version of totem came out, and I've been having this problem ever since the gnome-power-manager update.
