Hi, this appears to be a hardware problem. I opened my laptop up, reset
the keyboard ribbon cable and the problem has gone away. It appears to
be a common problem on zenbooks. Thanks for all your help.

That is show by /lib/udev/keyboards. I can confirm that this bug happens
sporadically. There are key events for seperate "L Ctrl" and "Up" buttons, but
when I press "L Ctrl" + "Up" I only get the "L Ctrl" key event.

I don't quite understand about the stack trace. I installed ttf-dejavu,
though I don't see how a font is related to a stack trace, but I
actually have a newer version of libdrm2. I am using jaunty backports,
this might explain things. I hope this helps.

OK, I reported it as a bug because this feature was in gutsy. Hardy

going on, but I could do this in gutsy gibbon.

I am having the same problem in 8.10,
gnome-panel version 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu2
gnome-applets version 2.24.1-0ubuntu1
I looked around in launchpad and I could not find a duplicate of this
bug, maybe this should be re-opened?. It seems like it should be a
relatively easy fix.

Yes, /proc/acpi/wakeup still seems to have no effect on wakeup events. Though
there is an interesting update.
If I disable LID0 in /proc/acpi/wakeup and suspend with pm-utils the laptop
wakes up on opening the lid and LID0 is still disabled in /proc/acpi/wakeup.
But when I use the old hibernate
/proc/acpi/wakeup works as expected when
sudo /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force
is executed. Perhaps there is no setting for this in the newer pm-utils. Should
this bug be closed?
