Did anyone try adding "-dvd-device" to the mplayer or gmplayer start
command?
I found in Hardy that this command won't work:
gmplayer dvd://1
It results in the error "No stream found to handle url dvd://1"
However, this command works:
gmplayer -dvd-device /dev/scd0 dvd://1

I fixed it after reading the alsa troubleshooting pages. The problem
was the digital/analog switch. I had to get the digital output turned
off and use analog. I do not know how or why installing Kubuntu
switched on the digital output, because I did not alter it myself.

was working fine. I installed kubuntu-desktop and koffice metapackages
yesterday. Logging in this morning my sound was working fine. I logged
out of gnome, logged into KDE to use the KDE printer configurati
according to nvidia, the problem is in the BIOS or kernel. Look at
