I installed the ,,irssi-plugin-silc'' and ,,irssi'' package ...
irssi crashes with SIGSEV on signal_emit()
however this worked with 9.04

I chose System->Admin(whatever it is in english)->System Test
first test is Audio device:
+ takes almost a minute to launch
+ this is on a Lenovoe S10, so I leave audio preferences just as they are
(audio works nice on karmic)
+ when I start the test, a window shows up for

just gave gnusound a try from current jaunty on my hp pavillion tx2650
with an ATI 3200 using the radeon driver: it crashes X just like it
crashes X on my Nvidia equipped PC running 8.10, when called via
gnome.menu ... if someone needs a specific log, just let me know...

Works again after repair, tried on the laptop only (via ExpressCard),
just plug and play :)

I brought the Camera to Canons service ... just 2 days ago they told me
the 1394 port is corrupted so it is a hardware defect.

I have experienced the follwoing:
* install dvgrab
* succesfully grab videos from a Canon HV30
* some days later, I got:
