The only version I have been able to install in my Z800 is Karmic AMD64.
It is ridiculous that I cannot run Lucid on it... and Kubuntu keeps
reminding me "there is a new version available, do you want to
update?"... yeah right, and never be able to boot again.

Huh? you are not making sense. All I am saying is that the logical link
libg2c.so pointing to the libg2c.so.0 library from the package is *missing*.
Without that link, any runtime, or otherwise, linking to the library WILL FAIL.
This is how you fix it:
ln -s libg2c.so.0 libg2c.so

There are multiple missing linkd in /usr/lib32 in the x86_64 version of Kubuntu
8.04.
Some examples of the links I had to create to have my 32 bit apps correctly
compiled:
libX11.so -> libX11.so.6
libXmu.so -> libXmu.so.6
there are multiple others.

So a few knuckleheads have at my company have had their laptops stolen,
some with important information. What's the company reaction?
Encryption. OK so far. They require encryption for USB disks and
laptops. OK so far.
Now here are the killers:
1- they require hardware encry
It is still an issue. I had to download source and figure out all the
parameters to compile to 32 bits and then put it in the same directory
as all the 32 bit libraries. It would be so mush simpler if it was
available as a package.

I can confirm this bug on several AMD64 installations of Feisty. Booting

I use my x86_64 do develop both 32 and 64 bit versions of my apps.
I had to manually download the i386 .deb package, extract it, copy the 32 bit

made me remove edgy, until I tried changing "focus follows mouse". BTW
this was fine on dapper. Any idea when will it be released ?

version of libXcursor.so. It prevents applications such as google earth

bits version of libGL.so, not to a 32 bits version as expected. This
