screen, but then it immediately goes blank - as if the screen was turned

I have a scanner that can automatically scan documents to PDF files,
which I use *a lot*. Recently when upgrading to 14.04, I noticed many
documents I've scanned in the past don't show up in evince, though they
did in 12.04. So, I installed a VM to verify. I took a screenshot

I use Crossover to run many windows applications needed for work, and
those apps all have the window controls on the right.

Same situation and same error message here, I'm using Debian Etch (with

Now I can boot the LiveCD. I have a Asus M2A-VM HDMI mainboard and after
I have upgraded the BIOS from version 0801 to 1001 it boot without any
problems. It is a little bit strange because the DVD-Drive works just
fine except for the LiveCD but I think this bug can be closed.

I have tried to boot the Gutsy Gibbon Tribe2 LiveCD from a SATA DVD-
Drive but it cannot mount the CD. I just see shortly the splash screen
