evolution-mapi package was installed. The exact error reported by
evolution when I try to setup exchange account was (GUI popup)
The Exchange server is not compatible with Exchange Connector.
The server is running Exchange 5.5. Exchange Connector
supports Microsoft Exchange 2000 and

reason. However my pidgin says its 2.6.6, are you using Lucid provided
version of Pidgin ?

1. If you have read my previous comments you would see that I did try with
upstream kernels with no luck
2. Today I switched to Ubuntu 10.4 RC hoping that it got fixed - NO LUCK.
3. This problem is not just specific to me but atleast two others in our
office.

I am not sure if it helps, but when I get disconnected, I do sudo
/etc/init.d/network-manager restart and it gets connected back. Trying
to connect by clicking on the network applet doesnt help so have to
restart.
