If you don't need to convert writer or calc to latex, then you can simply uninstall package openoffice.org-writer2latex and the error will disappear. You will get a warning, that the package openoffice.org will be uninstalled. But don't mind. It's only a metapackage where writer2latex belongs to. T

I can confirm this behavior for many Icon-themes. Especially those with only one scalable-folder. Only these ones with the whole icon-set in all possible sizes as png-files are working properly. Seems that Hardy or gnome 2.22 isn't looking for all the icon-locations as the older versions ** Change

No I don't. The VT's seem to be dead. Only the setupcon-command will solve the matter. But because of the different situation on single-user mode, I can't even log in blindly to execute setupcon. (normally in single-user mode you are still loggged in as root, when my memories are right) Did you
