I made a minor mistake on Item #6, above. The Issue is with Ubuntu
16.10. I do not know if the issue exists with 16.04. Sorry.

I'm having the same issue. Used to work on Ubuntu 16.04, and then
somehow failed. I have a Ubuntu 12.04 next to me a it connects to the
same PPTP with success.
I have attached a syslog of both machines. Let me know if I can test
anything else. Thanks.

9.04). I assume this is fixed.

I believe this is now fixed. After the official release of Lucid last
week, and the newest updates applied, I no longer see this problem.
After a cold shutdown and reboot, I no longer see the issue. I assume it
is fixed.
FYI: a friend suggested to me that this might be related to a udev
issue.

I am unsure how to capture the proper information, problem happens at
bootup. I can go to a command prompt. I'm not sure if the problem is
with HAL, or with LVM.
Computer: Laptop, 2 HDs
HD 1 = PQI, SATA Digital 32 GB
