totem/Nautilus does not correctly play/preview some mp4 video files

Nautilus previews do not display for some mp4 files. Totem does not play
these files correctly. Audio plays, video does not. These worked in
prior versions of Ubuntu and they also currerntly work with mplayer.

As Requested the contents of var\log\dist-upgrade. There are sub folders
I have not included but these appear to be log files of the multiple
times I have tried. I have not included them here.
My other machine (a laptop and only 32bit) upgraded with no issue. This

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by
held packages.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of U
I can confirm this as well. This happens when starting and stopping
video playback when the "Stop XScreensaver" option is enabled.
