As Requested the contents of var\log\dist-upgrade. There are sub folders
I have not included but these appear to be log files of the multiple
times I have tried. I have not included them here.

My other machine (a laptop and only 32bit) upgraded with no issue. This
machine though has been running Ubuntu through a few upgrades.
Everything installed has come from the trusted software source with the
exception of some Citrix (XenApp Client) that I tried to get working for
work. (It had issues with 64 bit)

Will I have to install from Disk to get this system to 11.10? Is it more
helpful for me to leave my machine in this state to help the bug fixing
process?
