16.04 LTS.
I tried a few different options in: "Brightness + Lock" but had no luck.
The settings there do affect this issue, but I could not turn off the
old style lock (disaplyed here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/639014

Still not working under lucid.

For some reason I thought it was going to be an easy add, and

1) The replacing via hardlink is an assumption. I don't keep them on
the same filesystem, I keep them on another external.
2) For backups. I'm keeping backups of my apt cache, so that if
something goes wrong I don't have to make a trip to a decent internet
source just to download/copy th

For backup reasons (and speed with copying), it would be a bit easier if it do
a checksum to only replace packages

I relocating:

But it still throws the errors if it's a "read only cache"
