The Lucid Alpha boots and I get the main menu. When I select either
'Install' or 'Run live (my words)', the installer probes my CDROM
repeatedly, but does not find my CD, even though it found it to start
the boot process.
I am running an AMD Duron 800 with 1.5 gigs of R
I am not experiencing this problem with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux
x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042523 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty)
Firefox/3.0.10. From my experience, I'm happy to close.

I have exactly the same problem, on an AMD64 box.
Strangely though, after I've used the "Save" dialogue, sometimes it
works, but generally I get a blank tab when opening, not even my home
page.

sometimes going for days without doing so. If I remove the applet and
re-add it, then the update is performed. I can confirm that my

The problem seems independent of window manager, and occurs with

that by editing one of the config files, the client was still allowed to
connect, even though it was ancient.

I have recently installed Gutsy on an AMD64 box.
Some times when I log in, the cursor does not appear, so I have to
switch to another tty and restart the machine.
Also, if another user starts an xsession, and then I ctl+alt back to the
original xsession, the cursor in often
I downloaded 7.10 today, from a UK mirror.
The install has just finished.
I did a base install, then did an
apt-get gnome fvwm-crystal xorg
Xorg works properly, with the keyboard mapped correctly. I do get some
Gnome problems and Firefox has a habit of crashing, but these are not X
problems.

I removed the card, and used the built-in one. Ubuntu now boots past
"Booting Linux." and the install begins. I'm guessing this confirms
it is a video card problerm.

Hi,
After many comments on the Ubuntu forums, I believe that the problem is
definetly related to Xorg and the Creator video card.
I haven't removed my card yet, so that the Sun FFB is used, so can't
verify this tonight.
I think this bug should be assigned to Xorg maintainers, though.
