I have an rt2860 on an Asus 1000h. Running 9.10. Same as above- works
fine with infrastructure in WEP/WPA/WPA2, but ad-hoc networks don't even
seem to be detected.

I have the bug on same chipset (Intel Mobile 945GME express integrated
rev03) on an asus 1000h. Confirming setting effects to none is a
workaround.
Looked through kern.log, syslog, debug, didn't find anything relevant.
Can post contents of Xorg.0.log if needed (I don't know as much about
reading
I have upgraded to Karmic, and no longer experience the issue. The
"duplication" method in

me under 9.04, though it is not a real fix, as it often requires
switching between the two duplicates.
