I'm having lots of troubles with apport-collect since the network is so
bad in 5.4.0, I tried apport-bug --save linux.apport linux, but that
just locks up for 10 minutes.
Is there any way I can run this offline and then send it with 5.3.0?
Or what info do you need that I can run by hand and post?
Also, running sudo apport-collect will not work since it can't attach to
my firefox not running as root. But I did manage to get an authorization
twice into my cache.

printing PDFs
Same issue with printing files from Firefox (and sometimes other applications)
in Bionic with a Brother HL5250DN.
The used driver does not matter (BR-Script3, PCL, PS).

Solution:
Use the BR-Script3 driver, then edit (as root) the PPD
If you have this issue and have a computer with a touch screen (like
Dell XPS or HP clamshells), just touch the screen to fix it.

Isn't the point of this bug report that current FFmpeg quits after 30 seconds
while older FFmpeg works for longer - completely independent of the "-t" option?
Anyway, please run git bisect to find the change introducing the issue as I
don't think there is another way to understand this issue.

please consider the CI case: headless process that runs periodically for
months without user interaction.
something like: deploy a private key (or similarly sensitive secret)
file and a publicly readable script (apt-add-repository...) and it just
runs, no browser, no user, no typing.

alternative would be to provide a public rtsp stream (that may not be

OK, removed. Just found it weird that both issues disappered by
restarting `gnome-shell`, so assumed they were related by some root
cause. Thank you.

machine again.
Regarding the actual issue, I don't think it is as cut and dry as this
being just about rendering alone, as that would imply that the rendering
performance was consistently bad. As I wrote, the performance seems fine
some fit, some don't:

would keep the cpu consistently at 100% when hitting it more than 8-9
times per second and *not* letting go of Alt (meaning I stay at the
