I note that similar issues have been reported well in the past, the most
recent in 2018, so I have make a new report.
I have a four drive system, sda 1 is root (/), sdb is home (/home) sdc
is backup (/home/bobbu). A fourth drive is a hdd drive that I use to
store images. As a
I confirm that the latest update has fixed the 'icon missing in launcher
at certain icon sizes' bug on my machine.
Result:- gnucash icon shows in launcher panel for all icon sizes.

You've found it Sebastian, thank you. Any icon size with a multiple of 8
works, 26 does not work for GnuCash in 20.04 but was ok in 19.10. All my
other icons show in the launcher at size 26.

The fault returned and I swapped out monitor/pc with other units to

I have recovered my system by going into recovery mode from grub.
I then reset the graphics to generic. It took a few attempts to do the
same thing before the graphics held up on the monitor as per normal
usage. I then booted into Ubuntu Desktop, shut down, restarted and all
was well.

When I start the computer the video is fine until it boots up Ubuntu.
Then, after 3 seconds approximately the monitor is blanked. I can turn
the monitor off and on again and it shows Ubuntu, again for 3 seconds

When using filters I can get incoming and outgoing emails to the
appropriate folder automatically. However, Evolution insists on leaving
a copy in the 'Deleted Items' folder. When I 'expunge' the Deleted Items
folder all emails that have been deleted via a filter remain in the
Deleted Items folder.
How can I download usb-modeswitch and usb-modeswitch-data, put then on a
usb stick, take them to a pc withount internet connectivity and install

Not too sure this bug report is in the right place, I'm simply following
the apport prompted bug.
I was trying to view my Inbox in Evolution, found over 300 emails
reported but none showing in the right hand window. I clicked the Inbox
again and the crash occurred.
During bootup, at the bottom of
Alpha 3 live CD amd64, attempting to add location, crash appeared to
happen selecting weather tab.

This really is a stinker of an old bug. Martin Pitt, this is fixed in
other linux distros, in fact it never really became a problem in them.
What is needed is some determination and the will to get a grip on it in
Ubuntu.

I have a similar delay problem using an external USB 2.0 hard drive. I
boot up from it using karmic 32bit using Grub2. The external drive is
IDE (PATA), 320GB, the file system is ext3, power comes from two USB
connections. Does the same issue exist on SATAII external hard drives
driven by USB power
I would welcome some advice on how to post with a more pleasing layout
too.

I can confirm this bug. The problem appears to be that Grub2 will include the
line
set root=(hdX,Y)
when installing grub on the external hard drive. In my case I had 3 internal
drives on the machine that I used to configure the external drive. So the line
root=(hd3,1) was included which works
Same bug after update on fresh install of 9.10. Offered to compare
between local version and developers. Chose to compare. When i closed
the compare window was notified of update failure.

You can control headphones. Plug in your head phones and start an
application that uses them, say Rhythmbox with some music. When the
music is playing look for the speaker icon in the top(default) panel of
the Desktop, right click and choose Sound Preferences. When the Sound
Preferences window open
