I am still having the same problem as everyone else. I cannot pin point
this problem to compiz, network-manager or awn. I don't have many gnome
applets running either. Here is a copy of my .xession-errors.

Finally fixed! After an upgrade from Edgy to Fiesty Herd 4, I still had
the same problem. After playing around with /etc/defaults/acpi-support I
added 'nm-applet' to the stop-restart services section and it works just
fine. Suspend is quick as quick can be and hibernate takes about a
minute.

I am having the same problem. For some reason, I cannot pin point an
exact cause of the crash. The report I attached, I uploaded about 15
files to my website, then double-clicked the uploaded directory to chmod
the files inside. Then GFTP froze a created the report for me. I believe

Suspend & Hibernate from console work just fine.
Suspend from X works fine.
When I right click gnome-power-manager and click hibernate, my system
