Hey Rodrigues,
Glad to hear this worked for you, instead of using a script download:
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/38458054/nvidia-g210m-acpi-source_0.1.0-1
%7Eppa-karmic_all.deb
This was originally designed for lenovo laptops. Kudos to Sylvain Joyeux
for creating this.
I also attached usr.src.
Hey Rodrigues Bruno,
Here is an ubuntu compiled kernel that will work for the U43Jc
Headers:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9907150/linux-headers-2.6.35-22-generic_2.6.35-22.33_amd64.deb
Kernel:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9907150/linux-image-2.6.35-22-generic_2.6.35-22.33_amd64.deb
Then simply do:
echo
Haha, never mind I'm dumb, figured out the P3MO thing, it is really
0x01 <= P3MO
So if it is 0x01 then it runs the appropriate code...
So there are two ways to do this, I can simply write an adapter for
acpi_call.ko that will quickly run
Store (One, \_SB.PCI0.RP00.VGA.P3MO)
\_SB.PCI0.RP00.VGA._
One more update,
I ran kernel 2.6.28 with dsdt from initramfs support (too lazy to
compile my own kernel...)
I modified the _SP3 method I attached above, and removed the first
condition (line 15029), and its corresponding closing bracket.
If (LEqual (P3MO, 0x01)) {
}
After removing the lines,
I spend a great deal of time myself attempting to figure out the u43jc
dsdt, and I was able to find the _PS0 and _PS3 methods.
Since _PS3 is the method for powering off devices, and it was the only
occurrence of _PS3 in the entire DSDT.dsl, I figure this is correct.
(It appears at \_SB.PCI0.RP00.
Here is the DSDT.dsl for the Asus u43jc.

I can confirm that grub-efi from svn will load a 2.6.26 kernel on a
macbook pro 3,1. (The one with the nvidia graphics card). I did not have
to add any custom options, and the graphics card works with accelerated
graphics. (Same xorg.conf loads fine). There are two problems, however.
The first is t

This person found the same thing as me, the problem is with the kernel32
patch.
I will compile a .deb with the patch reversed if anyone is interested.
The exact patch for anyone that is interested:

I can confirm this bug.
On a newly formatted ipod, rhythmbox repeatedly crashes when adding music.
I get the same segmentation fault as Mitch Mahan.
Running ubuntu 8.0.4.1 fully updated.
I will try another distribution to see if it is reproducible and then
report back here.

I guess that wine does not support running internet explorer with wine
whatsoever. (At least through the ies4linux, but its just a script so it
should not matter)
The only way that this will get fixed is if myself or someone else
regression tests wine and finds the specific thing that is going wro

Ok, first of all has anyone actually thought to
post this as a wine bug? This is not a "hardy" bug
this is a problem that needs to be fixed upstream.
It is much more likely that this will be fixed if the
actual developers of the application are looking into it
and not just the maintainer of the
