This is how I managed to solve this problem..
- installed gnome-alsamixer (sudo apt-get install gnome-alsamixer)
Then checked that out (gnome-alsamixer) and there the Capture setting
was okey -> So I went to volume control and changed device from NVidia
to Realtek ALC658D (OSS Mixer). Th

mic stopped working. My audio controller is nVidia Corporation CK804
AC'97 Audio Controller (rev a2).
I have tried the following suggestions:
