I can confirm that the RAID drivers are still not detected on a 12.04
server (regular and alternate images) install. The install was attempted
on an IBM X3550 M3.

That's what I thought. However, since Avahi is not using the correct
API's, wouldn't this problem continue to exist in CUPS 1.5 or is is
there a planned work around?
The reason I ask is because it seems to me that this problem wont be
solved until Avahi makes use of the correct API's.

descriptions of the what is being served, they don't initiate the

Actually CUPS discover is turned on in most Leopard and Snow Leopard
installations. More importantly it does not discover printers, so these
fixes won't help.

Sorry, I was probably unclear in my initial description. I've tried both
modifying the source deb from Jaunty's source repository to compile with
encryption and compiling from the source at sourceforge
(http://netatalk.sourceforge.net). They both produced the same error. I
also tried a posted solut

Actually, its not the same bug. Connecting from Mac OS 10.5.x does not
allow clear text passwords, so this bug affects netatalk compiled with
encryption. The bug only occurs after the connection has been
established and a dialogue is presented asking which volumes to mount.
