Hi again,
the \ issue is not the only problem. After boot & everything is mounted after
changing to // and you log out & log in, the mounts are not mounted anymore.
Since to be there are more regretions than only the slash issue.

It's now impossible for me, to repeat the error 'cause I had to
uninstall Evolution for it was not anymore working at all.. Now I'm
using Thunderbird and I hope it will not give me problems as before. The
only trace I can leave here is the one posted up but if I could help in

to choose another application... also if it found errors recorded by
Evolution. Do I have to install it again or it is preferable use another

I found that was a change from the 5.10 to the 6.04 and 6.06 so icons
come back after inserting a CD and after removing it disappear.
Everything onw is OK.

I think this report is too old and probably when I was using Ubuntu 5.10.
Actually I use Ubuntu 6.06 LTS and the problem stills, but it's not in relation
to the splash screen, but to the visualization of pages during browsing in the
