Now sucessfully Ripped CD on Windows machine and the same CD plays in
Rhythmbox on the same computer as froze with brassero. So sure CD was
not faulty.

Steps to reproduce fault.
Put CD in drive,
Offered option to run Brassero or Rhythmbox -- Selected Brassero
Greeted with window recoognising the CD in the drive and asking where to
put copy:

the Gnome Classic Desktop (Ubuntu Precise) and its not possible to see

If we have abandoned the 700MB size limit that needs to be shown
predominantly on the download page. For 12.04 the CD image was also too
big and that was considered a bug.

Many of the CD image iso files for Quantal will not fit on a standard
700MB CD

I have today run Update manager and its now working fine. I didn't
notice if this updated my kernal but it may have done.

Not sure but I think so? I ran quantal as a live CD so didn't install
anything but appeared to work. Its still broke on my system at the
moment. I'm still running precise.
