I can consistently replicate the issue when resuming from suspend. After
resuming the shortcuts don't work anymore, running Alt-F2 restart solves

I now have a different problem. I had sound working when i tricked the software
by having my phone play music. now it has booted up and the sound is lost and
there is a dummy card in the sound profile. if i add a bluetooth speaker it
will play to it but with lots of cutting

I have a similar problem using qemu-kvm in kubuntu 14.04.1, while running
linux-mint 17.1 or elementary os 0.3 beta 1 in the virtual machine.

Ok, after some new attempts I can file a report of what's going on.
I tried again with a live session on a daily ubuntu image. By issuing manually
inside a shell the command

the wireless network is immediately recognised.

I have a 12.04, installed shortly after the release and kept up to date.
Yesterday I was connected to a network with a proxy of the kind
described in the bug description above and today I saw the error
message. The issue was easiily solved removing the files as described in
the workaround.

this bug was definitely not caused of the kernel.. i was wrong
the only thing i know is it's gone, right now, after updating 73 packages with
update manager.
Don't know if my dpkg.log can be useful, now, since i'm no more affected.

Tried daily 3.1.0-999.201110171146 and rc 3.1.0-0301rc9.201110050905.
And i also tried the kernel i had before upgrading, was 2.6.38-11.50 .
All the three of them gave the same result. Screen goes off, and there's
