Public bug reported:

I have found a issue with 18.04 which seems to be a bug. I have a machine which
has been logged on for a long time but not updated. As soon as I updated it it
lost internet. The ethernet connection keeps turning off. It will fail to
connect.
I thought it was a issue with the pc, I then had a another PC which i upgraded
by usb and connected to the ethernet. As soon as it was rebooted it lost
ethernet.
To me this seems very strange that after a upgrade both machines are not
working. I have searched on the net but not been able to find out a cure?

Many thanks for your help.
